Amoakrom/Afarikrom School Project

Amoakrom/Afarikrom is a rural community in the Upper West Akim District of Ghana’s Eastern Region, where livelihoods are largely connected to agriculture and small-scale economic activities. Access to appropriate educational infrastructure remains an important development priority for the community.

Amoakrom/Afarikrom was selected for a six-unit classroom block following our community assessment, complemented by recommendations from the District Assembly and community partners. Phase One, which began in October 2025, was completed in June 2026, delivering three of the six planned classrooms. Phase Two, which will complete the remaining three classrooms, is scheduled to begin soon.

The project was implemented in partnership with Africa’s People Africa’s Power e.V. (APAP), Germany, which provided the funding for the school construction. The project follows our community partnership model, with the District Assembly providing technical expertise and oversight, community members contributing labor and local knowledge, and our development partner providing financial support.

Through this collaborative approach, the project aims to improve access to quality educational infrastructure while strengthening community ownership and contributing to sustainable local development.
